Did you know that it takes
2 calendar days to get to Australia from North America?
Don’t worry, you’re not in the air for 2
days. You cross the International Date Line and “lose”
a day on the way to Australia. So if you leave on Sunday
from Vancouver or Los Angeles, it’s already Monday
in Australia and you arrive on Tuesday morning. The
day you “lost” on the way there, you gain
on the way back. If you leave at 4 pm Sydney time on
a Monday, you could arrive at 2 pm on Monday in Los
Angeles. You could arrive back before you left!
